Dev Update: Upcoming PVE Adjustments and New Contents

Tarisland is hosting its next closed beta test in November. Here, we would like to share with you the development progress of PvE.

Over the past few months, our development team has taken constructive feedback from the previous playtest and worked hard to optimize various aspects of the game to make it more refined and more fun.

PvE is a core gameplay of Tarisland, and the team hopes to bring you exciting PvE content. Now, we would like to update you on the progress of the PvE mode development.

Balance Adjustments and New Difficulty Level for PvE Contents

After the last playtest, our monetary team revaluated  the overall difficulty level and character attributes of the PvE mode regarding the battle data and players' feedback.

To bring you a better PvE gaming experience, we deleted and adjusted some of the characters' secondary attribute types, so that each class specialization can perform better in PvE challenges in different environments. Correspondingly, we have made adjustments to all PvE content, including the bosses' HP, attack, and skill damage, based on the new secondary attribute settings. For example, we have reduced the PvE bosses' regular ATK and improved the Tanks' survivability.

We have also modified the loot drop rules for all PvE dungeons and raids so that players can obtain appropriate equipment based on their selected specialization.

Furthermore, to ensure everyone finds it challenging and fun, we will introduce a new difficulty level in dungeons and raids. We hope you can have a smoother and more layered experience acquiring gear in the game. Here are the details:

New difficulty level in raids

In the last playtest, players could choose from only two difficulty levels when challenging a raid. Recognizing that new players and first-time raid challengers might find both levels difficult, we will introduce a level of easier difficulty in the upcoming playtest.

With this new difficulty level, the bosses will use simpler battle strategies and skills , and their HP and damage values will also be decreased. First-time raid participants can familiarise themselves with the battle and prepare for harder difficulty levels.

With this progressive difficulty setting, players will be able to get a smoother gaming experience in raids and better cooperate with their teammates in challenges.

New matching system for 5-player dungeons

During the latter stages of the last test, we noticed that new players often had difficulties finding teams to challenge Elite Dungeons. There were also some hard-core players who would challenge Elite Dungeons every day to keep honing their skills and improving their characters.

In order for every player to fully experience the fun of Tarisland dungeons, we plan to add a random matching  system for dungeons. This will help new players get familiar with the game more quickly and free those who would like to challenge elite dungeons repeatedly from concerns about teaming up.

PvE Achievements and Rewards

For adventurers who are keen on challenging dungeons and raids, defeating a powerful enemy brings a sense of achievement, and receiving additional unique rewards is like the cherry on the cake. That's why we will launch a series of new PvE challenge achievements to reward every player who endeavors to take on difficult PvE challenges.

After completing certain achievements, players will receive unique rewards, which can only be obtained in the current season. These rewards include full sets of costumes, weapons, mounts, accessories, etc.

Whether you love splendid outfits, desire a unique weapon, or dream of riding a one-of-a-kind mount on the battleground, you will find your exclusive rewards here. Here is the preview of one of the rewards.

Inscribed Stone Skill and Class Adjustments

In the developers' content preview in late August, we mentioned that we were developing inscribed stone skills, designed specifically to add something new to classes. The inscribed stone skills for all specializations will also be available in the upcoming test. And a new growth mechanism for characters will also be launched. We will share further details with you later on.

In addition, the skills and ultimates of every class will undergo thorough adjustments and optimization. We have also modified some specializations that spoiled the gaming experience of some players in the last playtest. Here are the adjustments we have made:

  • Frost Mage: We redesigned how the Ice Energy converts into damage. Now the accumulation of ice energy can be better visualized, and players can deal more damage by casting skills more strategically.
  • Tamed Beast Ranger: We adjusted the ways to summon and interact with the Tamed Beasts to create more interactions. Now players can conveniently switch between different Tamed Beasts according to the situation on the battleground, adding more strategic depth to battles.
  • Bard: We simplified Bard's exclusive Musical Score and correspondingly made his skill casting easier, so that he can better support his teammates.
  • Frozen Barbarian Fighter: In the last playtest, many players found that the Frozen Barbarian Fighter's ability to take damage was less than desired as a tank. In the latest version, we redesigned his primary damage reduction skill. Now the Frozen Barbarian Fighter can effectively protect himself but also  play a more strategic role in the team.

In addition to the above-mentioned adjustments, we are still working on the final refinement and development of many aspects.
